BACCHETTE is a modern version of the folding safari chair and director’s chair, well established during the 20th century. Bacchette is Mentsen’s exploration into a new, contemporary interpretation of those chairs while maintaining their familiarity and the emotional quality. What makes Bacchette chair striking yet familiar is the beech wood sticks that form backrest and short arms that seem almost floating with minimal steel folding structure that are barely visible.
Designed by Mentsen, the structure was carefully studies to embody essential elements, and the choice of materials were based on functionality and tacticle qualities with awareness to sustainability.
