Winner of the Dulux Colour awards for Commercial Interiors – Public + Hospitality, the redevelopment of Build H’s basement floor at the Monash University Caulfield Campus by Jackson Clement Burrows Architects comprised of a number of spaces including the new cafe. Previously dark and hidden it has been completely recreated to feature a bright, open and relaxing space which helped open up the building envelope to its full extent. With high ceilings and lots of natural light, the space opens to a landscape terrace giving the sense of open and lightness. A carefully considered natural palette was paired with a coloured green band which encompassed the entry area and balanced the natural tones of the internal space. Design Nation features the 1.3 Barstools by Zeitraum and Earth Wall Lights and Undercut Planter by Anchor Ceramics. Photography by Peter Clarke.
