Life Imitates Art, Art Imitates TV Sitcom
As a tribute to the long awaited return of Arrested Development, artist Jeff Mitchell wanted to create something special to commemorate the auspicious occasion.
These mixed media portraits depict some of the shows more popular characters in iconic poses.
Michael is shown standing, presumably on the Balboa Boardwalk, wearing the Booth Banana’s banana suit. The portrait of Buster is an homage to his ‘incident’ involving a sheep in a Catalina photobooth. The final portrait is of the long suffering Tobias, who is shown in his Blue Man Group get up, which is reference to when he mistakenly mistook a Blue Man Group audition for a meeting for men suffering with depression.
These portraits are original works and have been created on a semi-gloss paper. These works are not prints. Each painting is a one-of-a-kind piece of pop-culture fan art.
All portraits come with a certificate of authenticity.
