Sky Blue is the Way

Giving a room a fresh new look is easy with a splash of colour. Choosing a colour can be difficult but this advice from Global Color Research’s, Hannah Malein, may help reduce the headache.

According to Malein, the focus this year is on blue. Not that pale, powdery baby blue in the baby’s nursery – but a vivid shade of the blue summer sky. And the trick, Malein said, is how you use your blue.

Painting finishes don’t necessarily have to be solid. Sponged, stressed and stippling finishes can achieve a lot within a space, especially when paired with a brilliant white. Vibrant colours like greens, pinks and yellows also work well.

If painting an entire wall blue is just too bold, try accessorizing with sky blue mosaics, vases, throw pillows or crockery. The only restrictions are the limits of your imagination.
