Brighten up Your Space with a Touch of Yellow

If you are looking for a unique, neutral tone to add a subtle feel to a room, experts from Global Color Research advised that dusky yellow is the colour of the season.

Warm, friendly and reassuring, dusky yellow creates a welcoming space. Hannah Malein, colour expert, said that this season will bring many interesting colour combinations because the tone is so easy to match.

Designers often use darker shades set against lighter neutral colours to create an essentially modern feel. Malein recommended various shades of tan, blue or green for a unique style. She recommended the use of another neutral colour to properly ground the colours – cream is a great colour to accentuate a yellow.

Wood and cork tiles also make perfect partners for the shade of dusky yellow. The colour will naturally highlight the depth of the wood’s grain and texture, without overwhelming a space.
