“Bootcut” Debuts on the Aussie Cafe Scene

Chris Hardy, an Australian furniture design company, recently designed a special four-legged stool that has been designed to fill a gap in the current furniture market.

Hardy initially began the project by researching the cafe chairs currently available in Australia before he went to work on the design stage.

When he found that Australia lacked a locally sourced and manufactured stool, he came up with the “Bootcut”.

Styled and named after the classic jeans cut that flares outward at the bottom, the Bootcut is intended to be welcoming while still having a personality.

Its sleek timber lines and warmth invite use while still being practical. Early prototypes featured a blondwood seat and legs in a squared-off circle shape. Grooves lightly mark the seat into four quarters on the top.

Being stackable at 40 mm intervals, it is ideal for large-group hospitality situations. However, its friendly personality means it also works well in the home.

The Bootcut is readily customisable, and because it is made locally it has no long lead time and can be delivered without delay.
